Anne helps you recognize, understand your painful emotions and behaviors in order to transform them.
In the humanist psychotherapy that Anne practices, clients learn to identify the origins of their difficulties and why these difficulties persist, opening the way to wisdom, growth, healing, and fulfilment within themselves and in their relationships. Anne provides an atmosphere of safety, support, empathy, and trust that allows people to share their feelings without fear of judgment. Different from traditional psychotherapy, the client-therapist relationship is collaborative and one of equals.
Working in a collaborative, safe and non-judgmental way, Anne concentrates on your emotions, thoughts and behavior in the present moment, all the while, when necessary, addressing the past. She will help you identify and change what is creating distress and discomfort in your life. Even in individual therapy, there is often a focus on your relationships with others.

Integrative psychotherapy
Anne has an integrative approach to psychotherapy, meaning that she uses tools from different schools of psychotherapy in treatment. Emotionally Focused Therapy is, however, a strong influence in Anne’s way of working. EFT is an empirically validated, brief therapy model that helps people recognize, understand and transform their emotions, behaviors and ways of relating. EFT helps us identify the origins of our difficulties and how they persist, opening the way to self-knowledge, healing and a flourishing life. Emotionally Focused Therapy is a Humanist therapy. Humanist therapies provide a positive approach to psychotherapy that focuses on a person’s individual nature, rather than categorizing groups of people with similar traits as having the same problems. Humanistic therapy looks at the whole person, not only from the therapist’s view but from the viewpoint of individuals observing their own behavior. The emphasis is on a person’s positive traits and behaviors in the here and now, and on the ability to use their personal instincts to find wisdom, growth, healing, and fulfilment within themselves.
Brief psychotherapy
Short-term therapy focused on helping a person to resolve or effectively manage specific problems or situations and to make desired changes.
Brief therapy is typically solutions-oriented, and sessions are more geared towards here-and-now more than exploration of the past. Sessions are more interactive than is typically the case in traditional psychotherapy.
In addition to therapy, Anne also offers workshops. Check the Events section of this website for information about upcoming workshops.
