Training in Emotion Focused Couples Therapy for therapists in both French and English. EFT is a structured model of couples therapy formulated in the 1980s by Dr Sue Johnson and her colleagues and developed alongside the expanding sciences of emotions and adult attachment.
For therapists, EFT provides a new framework for understanding what is happening in couple relationships and offers tools for creating positive change and stronger bonds. In recent years, Dr. Johnson and her colleagues have further developed and refined this model and completed numerous studies. This substantial body of research highlights the effectiveness of EFT, showing that 70%-75% of couples move from distress to recovery and approximately 90% show significant improvement. EFT is also used with families and individuals.
